ABSTRACT
Between August 1993 and August 1994, patients attended to the polichinics of SSK Istanbul Hospital with the complaints of jaundice, weakness and weight hoss were examined wıth US, CT and percutaneous transhepatic cholangıography. Nine of the se patients were fond to have malignant obstructing pathologies. Sıx of tehese 9 patients were undergone biliary self expanding Wallstent by percutoneus transhepatıc rout, under fluoroscopic guidance w ith the ın ten d of palliating the obstructed segment and maintaming the drainage through gastrointestinal system. This method has been determined as a permanent, pallıatıve solution in achievıng drainage malignant biliary congestions because it doesn't requıre general anesthesıa like in Zaparatamy in ınoperabl cases and is less traumatic and wıth less advers effects.
