ABSTRACT

29 patients with enuresis nacturna who were admitted to Eyup SSK Hospıtal between November 1990 and July 1992, were gıven intranasal desmopressin after evaluating the medical history, physical examination and laboratory findings. Especially the patients who wet their beds every night were included in the study. Excel for 2 cases, the initial dose was 20 ug / day and the dose was taperel da nd discontinued ın ll wheehs. 17 of the patients were girls, 12 of the patıents were boys. Theır ages were between 6-13 years. In two patients the initıal dose of 20 ug/day was not effective and the dose wasin creased first to 30 )lg 1 day and the n to 40 ug/day. In these patients, no response was achieved and the drog was discontinued at the end of two weeks, the other 27 patients receıved, the drug for 11 wells wıth gradually decrease doses. No fluid restriction was necessary for the patients. The parents were told to keep the recods every right The results were evaluated at the e nd of every week, At the end of ll weeks, 24, 08'7c, of the patıents. (7 patıents) were completely dry, in 18 patients. (61,52'7c ), the ineidence of bed-wetting was reduced to once or twıce a week. In the one year followup, of these patients the ineidence of bed - wetting was simı­lar. In 4 patients (13,76
