ABSTRACT

Sonohysterography (SHG) is a tecnique first described in 1988 by Deichert and colleagues; It uses saline solution for evaluation of the uterine cavity during transvaginal ultrasonography. SHG is one of the valuable imagine method that is used to investigate the aetiology of postmenopausal bleeding. SHG is specially important since the biopsies which is done to differentiate pathologies in patients with postmenopausal bleeding (polip, intracaviter myoma, hyperplasia, precancerous and cancerous lesions) may miss the focal lesions. In this study, we emphasized the importance of SHG in differential diagnosis of postmenopausal bleeding by describing two patients who came our clinic with postmenopausal bleeding and underwent fraction curettage (F/C) which was negative.
