ABSTRACT
The epithelioid hemangioendothelioma is a low grade malign tumour of angiocentric vascular origin which is rarely seen primarily in the osteoid tissue.Because of this reason, it can be confused with metastatic carcinoma, malign melanoma and sarcomas that appear as epithelioid picture in the centres where osteoid cases are rarely seen in. The differential diagnosis is made histologically by hematoxylin eosin and immunohistochemitry methods. Our case is 29 years old male patient who has applied to the clinic complaining of leg weakness six months before the operation. Highly destructive lesion was observed as 5x4x4 cm in size, at the level of 3-4th thorocal vertebra left pedincle and the costa at the same level by magnetic resonans imaging. The tumour couldn’t have been excised completely at the operation. It was sent to our laboratory as a two materials that were grey-white in colour and contained osteoid tissue partially. In the pathological examination the case was diagnosed histopathologically and immunohistochemically as an epithelioid hemangioendothelioma. According to the literatures that we investigated, we decided to present our case, because it is a rarely seen case and its differential diagnosis is very difficult.
