ABSTRACT

Acute C Hepatitis is generaliyan asymptomatic infection caused by HCV. The most signifıcant fact is that 85% of the cases progress into chronic hepatitis. Transmission by blood and blood products, which is the main way, has deelined recently because of control of serums in terms of anti-HCV before transmission. Healthcare workers are at risk regarding HCV infection. Risk of transmission with contaminated needlestick and sharp injuries is approximately 1.8%. Response to treatment by inteıferon or pegylated inteıferon in acute hepatitis C is extremely well. Treatment should be postponed for 12 weeks because of the possibility of spontaneous elearance.
