ABSTRACT

The epidermal ridges of finger, palm and sole of the human and the patterns formed by them is known as dermatoglyphics. The finger and palm prints of 17 patients with Burkitt lymphoma (BL) were compared with those of BO control subjects matched for sex and ethnic origin. On the fingertips of BL cases, ulnar loops are less, whorl types are more, palmar atd angles are less, total ridge count (TRC) are more then those of the control cases. Furthermore, palmar H loops are more, palmar N loops and t triradii are less, and the palmarA line terminations is found more often at location number 3. In this study, We conclude that particuZar dermatoglyphic patterns in finger and palms are significantly more common in pattients w ith BL than in controls.
