ABSTRACT
In our study, we found the ineidence of elinical rickets as 30.9 percent in 233 infants who were hospitalized due to various diseases. Their ages were between 4 and 12 months. 76.4 percent of elinical rickets cases had characteristic biochemical findings and 55.6 percent also had radiologic features. We found out that the main causative factors in rickets were inappropriate feeding methods and being exposed to insuf{icient sunlight. It deserved atıention to see also anemia ( 43 percent) and malnutrition (33.3 percent) in our cases. As a result we advocate that the preventive measures for rickets should be taken and the elinical rickets cases (without taking into cansideration the biochemical and radiologic findings) should be treated in a suitable way.
