ABSTRACT
In this study, we investigated effects of low-moleculerweight heparin(deltaparin) versus standart heparin, which was given for anticoagulation, on serum total cholesterol, triglyceride, lipoprotein(a), HDL, LDL, VLDLcholesterol in hemodialysis patients. It has been constructed on 38 patients taking bicarbonated hemodialysis due to choronic renal failure white given standart heparin for anticoagulation and 15 healthy persons. In group I (23 patients), deltaparin was given at the beginning of hemodialysis for six months long (according to body weight total 2500-5000 lU N). In group II (15 patients) standard heparin was given at the beginning and during hemodialysis (total 2500-5000 lU N). Before and after treatment serum total cholesterol, triglyceride, lipoprotein(a), HDL, LDL, VLDL- cholesterol levels were obtained. Using deltaparin versus standart heparin did not change signifıcantly the levels of lipoprotein(a), HDL, LDL-cholesterol. But it decreased signifıcantly the levels of total cholesterol, triglyceride, VLDL-cholesterol, which have been known as aterogenic. For this reason we advice using low-moleculer-weight heparin more frequently than standard heparin for anticoagulation in hemodialysis patients.
