ABSTRACT

Objectives:

We investigated the effectivity of low-dose antidepressant treatment en functional dyspepsia.

Patients and Methods:

The study concluded total 45 patients with functional dypepsia.They were separated in two randomized groups; First group (30 patients), second group (15 patients).First group (30 patients), second group (15 patients). First group used omeprasol 20 mg, domperidon 10 mg (TID), amitriptylin 25 mg and second group used omeprasol 20 mg, domperidon 10 mg (TID) not amitriptylin. Sympotms were asked after 10 weekly therapy. Lose of symptoms was agreed with success of the medical treatment. Chi square test was used as statistically calculations.

Results:

Because of advers effects, 4 patients in first group, 1 patient in second group couldn’t continue the study. At the end of the 10 weekly therapy, 20 of 26 patients in first group, 6 of 14 patients in second group lost the dyspeptic symptoms. Comparing between two groups,there’s a significant difference as statistically p<0.001.

Conclusion:

In the treatment of functional dyspepsia, lowdose antidepressant drog may be useful and it’s aadvisable.
