ABSTRACT
In this study, a patient prediagnosed as necrotizing fasciitis and hospitalized in our hospital is evaluated. The wound exudate was gram-stained, cultured aerobically and amaerobically and Acinetobacter calcoaceticus was isolated. The susceptibility test revealed that the bacterium was multiresistant and susceptible only to imipenem. This case reminds us that such multiresistant microorganisma as A. calcoaceticus may be a part of polymicrobial flora in necrotizing fasciitis and therefore materials for culture must be obtained before ampiric therapy is begun.
