ABSTRACT

Histopatologic evaluations of thyroidectomy materials of 1580 nodular goitre patients were investigated retrospectively whose operated in SSK Istanbul Educational Hospital between 1994-97. All patients nodules were hypoactive or nonfunctional and all were eauthyrodea. Postoperative histopalogic evaluation was shown that 95% benign hyperplasia, 5% malignity; adenomatous hyperplasia 89.6%, diffüz hyperplasia 0.1%, folliküler adenom 2.3%, hashimato thyroidit 1.2%, Iymphositic thyroidit 1.3%, granulomatous thyroidit 0.2%, Basedow Graves 056%, trabecular adenoma 0.01%, amiloidozis 0.01%, papillary carcinoma 4.2%, follicular carcinoma 0.1%, medullar carcinoma 0.2%, indiferantial carcinoma 0.1%, hurtle cell carcinoma 0.3%.
