Schwannomas are asymptomatic, capsulated and solitary tumors arising from schwann cells in the nerve sheath. While intrathoracic tumors are frequently located in the mediastinum, they uncommonly originate from intercostal nerves. We report a case of schwannoma arising from an intercostal nerve in a 17-year-old woman, with chest pain, who was subsequently operated.
