The Evaluation Of the Effect of Hyaluronate In Thmporomandıbular Joint Osteoartrosis

Temporomendibular pain and dysfunction are common problems that occur in about 33% of the general population. The aim of this study is to compare efficacy and tolerability of intraarticuler sodium hyaluronate (NaHa) and naproksen for temporomandibuler joint OA. For this purpose 25 female, 15 male totaly 40 patients were taken into this study. These patients were divided into two groups. Group 1 consisting of20 patients received weekly 15 mg 1 ml injections of N aHa for TME joint, whereas group 2 consisting of 20 patients recevied only naproksen PO for a duration of 3 weeks. All patients have been evaluated on the 3rd and 6th weeks after the injections. As a conclusion, intra articuler injection of NaHa have been proven to be effective in the trectment of TME OA.
