Subepidermal calcified nodule is clinically and histopathologically a distinct type of idiopathic calcinosis cutis. It is more common in early childhood and may be congenital or acquired. The condition is not associated with biochemical abnormalities or systemic illness. Serum calcium and phosphorus levels are usually normal. The most common location is the head and neck area. Histopathologically, it is characterized by homogenous basophilic masses or granules of various sizes in the upper dermis. We describe a healthy 11-year-old boy with a typical lesion of subepidermal calcified nodule occurring on the eyelid.
