A dark necrotic lesion destroying the nasal dorsum was discovered in the physical examination of a woman patient, who was admitted to the emergency department for impaired consciousness. Although medical information on the patient did not reveal any history of diabetes mellitus, blood glucose level and blood Ph were 342 mg/dL and 7.1 respectively. The patient was hospitalised with diagnoses of diabetic ketoacidosis and rinocerebral mucormycosis, and anti-mycotic treatment was administered thereafter. Vital signs and biochemical levels were normalised for planned surgical debridment. Since the relatives have not consented to operation, the medical treatment was maintained. In the current case report, the course of rinocerebral mucormycosis in a patient who has not undergone surgical procedure is presented and discussed in the light of the literature.
