The ineidence of penetrating heart injuries are increasing day by day in relation with the inreasing violence in the society. Mortality of the heart tarumas due to stab wounds and gunshots are quite high. Delay in transport of the patients and surgical intervention is the main reason for such a high mortality. 1n this report, we rewieved our sevencases retrospectively operated in. İ. Ü. Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery Department between the years of 1989-94.
