Local Steroid Teraphy in Carpal Tunnel Syndrom

In this study, there were fourteen women and two men. The study is investigated an twenty eight extremities. the average age of the patients was 48,44 ± 11,63 years. To all the patients, 20 mg metilprednisolon acetate was injected on the wrist. ENMG was made to every patient before and after three months of injection. The results of motor distal latency, sensory distal latency, suferficial sensory, grasping big objects, grasping small objects were determined. According to these results, it was determined that the use of local steroid in CTS makes the elinical and laboratory results better. It was determineted that local steroid treatment in CTS of medium degree is a alternative that has to be used with treatment methods.
