Hereditary angioedema is an rare autosomal dominant disease which affects respiratory, gastrointestinal and subcutaneus tissues. This condition is due to an inherited deficiency of C1 esterase inhibitor. Hereditary angioedema can be associated with autoimmun disease such as, systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid artritis, autoimmun thyroiditis and glomerulonephritis. It may also occur with infections, travma, stress and the changes of the temperature. Our case seems to be interesting because the disease is rare and had been diagnosed in a late age.
