Objectives:
In this study, we searched gamma glutammyl transpeptidase level in over-weight nonalcoholic nondiabetic women with hepatosteatosis.
Patients and Methods:
First group was consisted of overweight 26 women with nonalcoholic nondiabetic hepatosteatosis by ultrasound diagnosis.Second group was consisted of 12 healthy women without hepatosteatosis, according to ultrasound searching. To compare between two groups, GGT levels were estimated, Student’s test was performed in statistical evaluation.
Results:
In first group, mean age was 46.8±4.1 years, in second group it was 44.2±3.9 (p>0.05). In first group, body mass index wass 27.4±2.3, in second group it was 23.6±1.2 (p<0.001). GGT level in first group, was 31.21±20.12 mg/dl, it was 14.01±2.74 mg/dl in second group (p<0.001).
Conclusion:
High levels of GGT may show heepatic damage, in nondiabetic nonalcoholic hepatosteatosis.
