Hemodialysis plays an important role in the management of chronic renal failure patients. In the period between Jan. 1992 to Nov. 1994, 271 uremic patients urderwent a total of 348 surgical intervention of which 244 consisted of AV fıstula and 27 consisted of synthetic graft implantatıon. The patency of AV fıstulas was 2. 7 years where as that of synthetic grafts was araund 1 year. Our experience and complications in AV fistula surgery were interpreted and compared w ith those in literature.
